Volunteer Support Meetings are scheduled the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm.

These are generally held at the United Way Conference Room located at the Gateway Community Center (previously known as the Gateway Mall).

Throughout the year we occasionally schedule evening or weekend trainings, these will noted as they are scheduled.

• Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 12:00-1:30 at the UW Conference Room
  Deb Grandkoski, DCFS Regional Permanancy Specialist, is a dynamic communicator. She will speak about teen permanency, and provide information about recent changes in the program.



• Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 12:00-1:30 at the UW Conference Room
  Pat Warneke, Chief Probation Officer, will provide information regarding the Juvenile Justice System and how it effects our kids. Please come and support the speaker.



• Wednesday, October 8, 2008, 12:00-1:30 at the UW Conference Room
  October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Jill Hoxmeier, Community Education Specialist for Violence Free will provide an interactive and educational training session on the topic of domestic violence. Bring your questions.

• Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 12:00-1:30 at the UW Conference Room
  Angie Garret, LCPC, CCDC. She provides counseling for children and families and is well-versed in the needs of our CASA children and looks forward to an interactive discussion with our volunteers.



• Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 12:00-1:30 at the UW Conference Room
  CASA network meeting. Although we will not have a trainer at this session, these are typically the sessions that we receive the most positive feedback on. CASA volunteers are often the best resource on working within this complex system. Come and share your concerns and your solutions with the rest of us.
